Torrent downloading metadata forever

 · Hi. Quite frequently I get stuck on 'Downloading Metadata' for certain torrents, whilst at the same time others download just fine. If I go to ~/Library/Application Support/uTorrent and delete topfind247.co and topfind247.co files then those stuck at 'Downloading metadata' start downloading but then a few days later I will run into the same problem.  · Certain magnet links are stuck on "Downloading metadata". Restarting the torrent do not work. Pause and Start. Restarting qbittorrent do not work. It shows many seeds and peers but it is not fetching the torrent file. Both uTorrent and Tixati is able to download the torrent file. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered. If there are no seeds then there is not much you can do in the short term. Just keep the torrent (s) loaded in your torrent client and hopefully a seed comes online one day in the future. Alternatively try looking for a different torrent that may currently have seeds. Also a reminder to continue seeding your own torrents after you download them.

I started a torrent 8 hours ago and went to bed. This morning it's still "downloading metadata" despite the seeds column showing 35 (4) and peers in the s. It's a mb file so it's not huge. 3 of the trackers are showing invalid URL or connection timed out, but one says working and DHT, local. Certain magnet links are stuck on "Downloading metadata". In the buttom right of the screen on Bittorrent is a red indicator saying something about the firewall is limited (something like that) and clicked on it, ran connection test and so forth. Again, still nothing and "Downloading metadata" is at a stand still. Currently, I have only one movie on the torrent at the moment and going to give it a few. Slow torrent downloads are commonly caused by a few factors. Some are under your control (router issues, port forwarding, and misconfigured settings in your torrent client (uTorrent, QBittorrent etc). Other causes, like blocking or throttling by your ISP aren’t easily fixed by tweaking settings. Answer (1 of 4): it's not always faster, it's just how it works. the way direct download works is you have one file somewhere on a server and you have all these people trying to download from that server slowing it down.
